The National Digital Sovereignty Observatory is online in beta: both the initiative’s website (this one) and the technical software that produces the data, MxMap.it.
What is online
- The Observatory website — reports, analysis by category of body, sections dedicated to decision-makers, stakeholders, journalists, researchers and citizens, downloadable documents and open data.
- The MxMap software — the open source pipeline that analyses the DNS records of the Italian PA domains to identify the email provider and its jurisdiction.
The published data is preliminary: the first official measurement, from which continuous monitoring will start, is still being consolidated. This is why the project is marked as beta.
An invitation to take part and contribute
The Observatory is an open, multi-stakeholder project. Everyone’s contribution is needed to complete the roadmap, improve data quality and raise awareness:
- Developers and technicians — contribute to the code and the pipeline on GitHub (and on MxMap).
- Researchers, journalists, activists, PA — use the open data, report errors, propose analyses.
- Everyone — join the community on the Telegram channel to follow updates and coordinate.
